GRADING FOR THE 2024 SEASON

Brookvale FC Season 2024 Grading

Welcome to the 2024 Season!

We are happy to confirm the 2024 grading sessions as below.

We are proud to announce that after the amazing feedback from our 2023 inaugural year, Brookvale’s FUTURO sessions will be on again this year with Matilda’s coach Ivan Jolic at the helm. Ivan is currently overseas coaching, but we are anticipating he will be back in time to run the kids through a mini-FUTURO session as part of the grading day process. It is obviously a wonderful opportunity for the kids to meet Ivan and his team and get a taste of what FUTURO is all about. We are very excited, and I am sure the kids will be too!

MWFA mandates that all clubs grade their players from the U10s upwards.

At the same time, Brookvale understands and fully supports when our junior players just want to continue playing with friends, so bearing in mind that team sizes change as the kids move through the age groups, wherever possible, we will try to keep existing teams together when they want to stay together. For those kids wanting to continue playing socially, their parents should let us know before the grading, so we can try and place them with their friends.

Of course, we also wish to provide an opportunity for the stronger and more competitive players to play with others at a level that matches their skill and progresses their dreams. Our development program seeks to move these players up through the age groups to hopefully play with senior teams and possibly even our Premier League team and perhaps beyond.

We get the stress of Grading Days, so will do everything possible to make everyone feel comfortable and make the session fun. To this end, so please be sure to share with the kids:

  • We expect them to make mistakes on the day, and we are not looking for perfection – in fact, just one nice touch, shot, pass, or gesture to their teammates is enough to get noticed!
  • On the day, the numbers might force us to move players around to balance the groups. Please ensure the kids know that this is just for the day and just to make the numbers even (we very much appreciate and notice the kids who help make this easy when it happens!).

If they want just to continue playing socially, please explain to them that this is a great opportunity to just have a kick-around with their friends and at the same time, the grading committee and coaches can get an understanding of which divisions to nominate each team for.
